  1. Day Six of Thirty

A picture of a pet you would like to keep.

    The Best Great Dan

There is no other pet in my heart then my wonderful Great Dane Walter.  He’s too big for his own good.  He’s always in the way, and is constantly being told “MOVE WALTER.” He loves being outside and loves getting attention out in public.  He’s terrified of water packing bubbles, loud noises, and having his paws touched.  His favorite thing in the whole world is to lay in our bed.  He know this will only happens after he has endured a shower and is sparkling clean.

He is already 5 and Great Danes don’t live that long, which makes me sad.  But we hope  we still have at least 5 more years left.  We love you Walter.

  2. Day Five of Thirty

    May 16, 2011 by Marie

Post of Picture of Yourself Two Years ago.

This is me and Cora at the Utah County Fair.  Penny was just a wee little one and I was so proud of not looking AWFUL post baby as I did with Cora.  I think the second baby is a lot easier on your body.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Cora.  It shows the light in her eyes.  She’s such an amazing little girl and makes my heart soar with pure joy.  Now I have two of these little lights in my life and the joy is doubled.  Work is quadrupled, but the joy makes up for it.

  3. Day Four of Thirty

Your Favorite Photograph of Your Best Friend

Oh the dreaded “Best Friend” labeling. Honestly I feel so blessed to have several people I would call a Best Friend. But of course my VERY best friend would be my lovely hubby.

    Cora giving Pete some love

Pete is my go-to guy. He will always listen to me and tell me what I need to hear. Even if I don’t want to hear it. And he’s super sensitive and thoughtful. He goes out of his way for special occasions and surprises. He is the one person I would choose to spend every waking second with. And of course every sleeping second.

I also consider 3 girls named Whitney as amazing friends, an Amy, Nicole, Kaitlyn, my sisters, Eryn Danielle (Cora’s name-sake) and a brother-in law. See I’m pretty lucky. You can never place any value on having someone that will always be available to hear you cry and talk you through you tears.

  4. Day Three of Thirty

Describe your idea of a perfect first date.

Honestly I don’t remember many “first” dates. But of course my favorite was on October 25, 2002. It was a blind date and I waited in anticipation for weeks for this date. And I even bought a new pair of khakis for the date (yeap, killer fashionista)
Pete came to the door and I instantly felt comfortable around him. I remember everything about that day; his car, the gas station when we filled up. He apologized for not filling up before hand and he nervously fumbled around with the pump. I remember the BYU volleyball game and dinner at The European Connection. And I remember his drink of choice; half hi-c fruit punch half sprite. Why do I remember his drink? Cause that is one of my dads favorite drinks and I thought that was awesome. The one thing I don’t remember is how the night ended. But I know I woke up the next morning wanting to see him right away.
I think that’s the only thing you can ask for in the best first date.

  5. Day Two of Thirty

Post a picture of something you ate. Seems menial but I’ll do it :)

I have been trying to have one green smoothie a day. Today it was strawberries and spinach. It wasn’t too bad. I bought more fruit last night to add some variety. I even bought Kale. We’ll see how that goes over.

  6. Day One of Thirty

    May 1, 2011 by Marie

Day one says to post a picture of yourself and tell how your day was.

Today is a typical Sunday; Penny is taking her nap and I am working on bribing Cora to take one as well. It NEVER works. She stopped blessing my life with naps a little after she turned two. Let’s hope Penny does not follow in her footsteps.

I always love the quiet Sunday afternoons and the possibility of a little snooze. I love having a legitimate excuse not to do any work or even open up my email. The Sabbath is a marvelous thing.

So here I lay, cuddled in my blanket on my favorite “chair” in the house, thinking about the week and the sun that awaits us in St George and Vegas. A very long over-due getaway. I hope the sun finds it’s way in my luggage so I can bring it home to lovely Pleasant Grove.

  7. Starting It With a Challenge

    April 29, 2011 by Marie

I stink at blogging, among other things, but I really need to do it for myself and my girls so we have a record of everything they, we, and us do.  So I’ll start off my attempt at improving with a 30 Day Challenge.  I am copying my dearest Caitlyn (with a C not my dear Kaitlyn with a K)

Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

Day 4 – Your favorite photograph of your best friend.

Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago.

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.

Day 7 – Your dream wedding.

Day 8 – A song to match your mood.

Day 16 – Your celebrity crush.

Day 17 – A photo of you and your family.

Day 18 – Something you crave a lot.

Day 19 – Another picture of yourself. (Um, why?)

Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.

Day 21 – A photo of something that makes you happy.

Day 22 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently.

  10. Cora and Curlers

    March 13, 2010 by Marie

I have always wanted to put Cora’s hair in curlers. So I bought some old school foam ones the other day and gave it a try. What do you think? Yeah, we won’t be doing that again.
